Our family is so happy that we found Dan Hurd’s Academy of Martial Arts. My son has been taking classes for over 6 years and as we watched him progress, the rest of the family started taking classes too. Mr Hurd and Mr Dahlhaus both genuinely love their art and teaching it to others. Each class is engaging for the students and helps build confidence and discipline. If you have ever been interested in learning martial arts, this is the place to go!

Both of my daughters have been going here for years. Mr. Dahlhaus and Mr. Hurd are great with the kids. Teaching discipline, confidence and self-control as well as strength and passion. They (along with all the other instructors) are doing a great service for our community.

We started our karate journey at the rec center (as I suspect most did) and finally made the transition a couple of months ago to the dojo. Mr. Dahlhaus is the perfect teacher for the kids. He commands authority and holds the kids accountable all while having fun with them. My son needs help with focus and slowing down, and I hope that over the next while I will see continued progress. I would recommend classes any day.
